Answer
If you receive either of the 4 messages above when trying to send email, it would appear that someone has labelled the IP address of the machine you are using to connect to the internet with as a source of spam.
To find out why this has happened as well as how to get unblocked you will first need to visit a site such as
www.whatsmyip.net
or
www.whatsmyip.org
This will tell you your IP address, it will be of the form:
XX.XX.XX.XX
If you are receiving either:
550 IP in XBL,
550 IP in SBL, or
550 IP in PBL,
please go to
http://www.spamhaus.org/xbl/index.lasso
and enter your IP address into the form.
If you receive the 550 IP in SCBL message then please go to
http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml
and enter your IP address.
Both of these pages will explain the reason for the black listing and they also have a "remove IP address" facility. Please note that it may take several hours for your IP address to become delisted.
